Meet the founder

Mia Amira Tarbhai

A family-law attorney, trial lawyer, former educator, and LGBTQIA+ advocate who believes clients deserve straight answers and a lawyer who understands what is at stake beyond the case file.

Mia has spent much of her legal career guiding clients through divorce, including gray divorce, custody and parenting time, support, adoption, parentage, orders of protection, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and other deeply personal family matters, including the distinct legal issues that LGBTQIA+ families may face. She also helps clients prepare wills, codicils, transfer-on-death instruments, and trusts. At the same time, she built a complex-litigation toolkit at a major national law firm. Her experience includes trials, depositions, investigations, dispositive motions, and mediations.

Before practicing law, she spent a decade teaching. That background and her experience as a mother still shape her practice: listen closely, explain clearly, prepare relentlessly, and never lose sight of the person in front of you.
